SightMD Physicians Awarded in Newsweek’s America’s Best Eye Doctors List
Jeffrey Martin, MD, Neil Katz, MD, and Seth Potash, MD among America’s Best Eye Doctors 2021
America’s Best Eye Doctors 2021 recognizes the best 150 Ophthalmologists and 150 Optometrists in the U.S. Over 10,000 doctors, ophthalmologists, optometrists, managers, and health care professionals with knowledge of ophthalmology were asked to recommend the best eye doctors in the U.S. Each physician was then ranked on the quality of technical equipment, continuity of care, and quality of care. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
About our Top-Ranked Doctors
Jeffrey Martin, MD is the Co-Founder and President of SightMD. His father founded the practice in 1962, and Dr. Martin is proud to have helped it become the leading eye care organization that it is today. Dr. Martin is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract and laser vision correction (LASIK) surgery. He is recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, a Super Doctor, an America’s Most honored Doctor, and has received several Patients’ Choice and Compassionate Doctor recognitions. “I am humbled and honored to be included on this list of amazing ophthalmologists, but it does not change my goal or the goal of all the doctors of SightMD. We continue to do the absolute best for our patients with compassion and kindness”, said Dr. Martin when learning about this latest accomplishment.
Neil Katz, MD is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who has been in practice since 1996 in Westchester County, New York. Among his areas of expertise are adult cataract surgery, pediatric ophthalmic surgery (strabismus surgery and surgery on the tear duct system), adult strabismus surgery, and laser surgery for glaucoma and cataracts. He also performs both routine and challenging contact lens fittings. Dr. Katz said, “It has been a privilege to provide eye care to the residents of Westchester County for the past twenty-five years. I appreciate the recognition of being included in Newsweek’s Best Eye Doctors list for 2021. As always, I will continue to do my best to serve my patients and their eye care needs. The SightMD team is committed to bringing great ophthalmic care to each of our patients.”
Seth D. Potash, MD is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained Glaucoma specialist, practicing in Westchester County since 1993. He is proud to have been named to a number of “Top Doctor” lists, including Castle Connolly Top Doctors, Leading Physicians of the World, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Westchester Wag Magazine. He has extensively published academic articles and abstracts and has presented his work at national meetings. “It is such an honor to be selected to Newsweek’s Best Eye Doctors 2021. I have always strived to apply my knowledge and experience to provide the very best care I can give to my patients in an empathetic manner, paying particular attention to their fears and concerns. As a glaucoma specialist, I deal with a particularly sick group of patients, many fearful they will end up blind. Caring for these people, not only involves addressing their visual issues, but also involves a lot of hand-holding and emotional support. For me, one of the most important things professionally is earning the respect of my peers, particularly my fellow ophthalmologists. The fact that this recognition is largely peer generated is so incredibly rewarding. Although I never think of myself as a “top doctor,” it certainly is humbling to be included in the company of so many fantastic ophthalmologists” exclaimed Dr. Potash when learning he had been named among America’s Best Eye Doctors by Newsweek.
SightMD’s mission is to provide an unparalleled care experience for patients with 7-days-a-week access to world-class quality eye care in the convenience of their local neighborhoods, delivered by a dedicated, caring, and talented healthcare team. Dr. Martin, Dr. Katz, and Dr. Potash live this mission every day and are most deserving of the prestigious accomplishment.
